Room Colette de Jouvenel

Colette de Jouvenel (1913-1981)

The daughter of Colette and the journalist and politician, Henry de Jouvenel, the writer’s second husband, Colette de Jouvenel spent a lonely childhood at Castel-Novel Castle. She is known to all Colette readers as Bel-Gazou. She will suffer from the physical absence of her mother who entrusts her education to an English nurse. During the Second War, she actively participated in the family castle of la Résistance from Curemonte.

After the war, she became a journalist and testified to Nazi abominations. She will also use her pen to advocate for gender equality, to demand a fairer status for women, and to promote women to high-level positions.
